Prayer for Malta
The Vision
The prayer group meets every Thursday at 11 am – 1 pm to pray for Malta, we have been greatly encouraged by answers to prayer. We declared an open door in our Centre. We began with one or two and gradually numbers have increased, although this is not about numbers. Our heart is to see God’s revival fires come to our Islands and His righteousness reign.
God has graciously taken us step by step, guiding and leading us, each one of us feeling His touch in various ways. He has been dealing gently with us week by week, purifying our lives and drawing us closer to Himself. We are well aware that we still have a long way to go, but God has not finished with us yet!
Sometimes there is quietness and a real sense of God’s Holy presence, at other times we are loud in our exuberant praise. On other occasions God, by His Holy Spirit, has led us into times of spiritual warfare, when we have known we are doing battle in the heavenlies!
We can testify to the life-changing power of God at work before our very eyes. Yes, we are seeing spiritual growth and transformation in the people of God. We also give thanks to Him for one or two miracles of healing, sometimes among those who gather with us, and others whom we have never met, only received a request to pray for them.
If you click on prayer request on the right hand column and let us know your need and we will count it a privlege to pray with you.
We give praise to God for all he is doing. However, our main thrust of prayer continues to be that God will reveal the right keys for Malta. We have confidence in Him that He has called us and He is faithful to perform His word over our Islands. We continue to run with the vision.
Some keys for effective prayer
Knowing the Will of God
In the Old Testament we read in Daniel 2:21-22 that God “gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. He reveals deep and hidden things; He knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him”. In the New King James version we find in Daniel 11:32 – “but the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.”
The key word here is ‘know’.

The only way to get to know someone is by spending quality time with them . In order for our prayers to be effective we need to know the heart of God in the matter.
There are two ways to live and two ways to pray: either doing it our way or doing it God’s way. We get to know God through His Word and through the Holy Spirit because we want to both live and pray in the way He leads. This is why those who meet with us at our weekly Prayer for Malta are instructed and encouraged in the importance of listening to the Spirit of God. This is an exercise we need to do daily, both privately and corporately that our prayers will be powerful and effective. When we flow with the Spirit of God and bend to His will we can be more confident of answers coming our way. Time will not be wasted in wondering if we are praying right but we will be confident, praying in the way God has directed. With God’s help in aiming our prayer ‘bullets’ we can be certain of hitting our targets! 1 John 14:14-15 “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.”
Having Faith in the God we know
The more we realize the greatness and the power of God the stronger our faith in Him will become. No one knows God better than His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Faith could be found in Jesus, not doubts. He knew with assurance the power of God was always more than enough. This is why Jesus could just speak the word into situations again and again; and the miracles happened. Demons had to go, sickness had to go and even the dead were raised to life.
Be encouraged to read God’s Word daily, so you know how powerful God really is. Romans 10:17 “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
It is difficult to get our minds around the truth that God waits us to ask so He can send the answers. He waits to see faith in operation so He can act on our behalf.
How important then does God consider our faith to be? For the answer let us look again into His word. Hebrews 11:6. “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Be encouraged to read the whole of Hebrews 11 it is a great chapter of faith.
The Authority in His Name
There is power in the precious name of Jesus. When we believe in His name and live in obedience to God’s Word, we have the right to pray in His name. Mark 16:17-18 “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
This is the right of all believers. Truly we serve the God of miracles. The same Spirit that raised Christ Jesus from the dead really is within us!
